In reply to <a href="https://www.tilledsoil.org/book-review-hidden-treasures-in-the-book-of-job-by-dr-hugh-ross/#comment-136">James Matichuk</a>.

Thanks James! I agree on looking at more than Genesis 1&2. That is something I've really appreciated about Hugh as long as I've been listening to him or reading his material. So many can't seem to think outside focusing right in on just that bit of Genesis.

My biggest complaint has always been (and it seems softened in this book), the way points are sometimes put forth, such as, "The Bible clearly teaches X right here..." when it isn't so clear. I guess most of the ministries that focus on various positions are guilty of that (as, probably, am I). I guess we always want to put our best foot forward, but it always puts me off, so I try to pay attention to that.

That said, I do think RtB tends to do a pretty good job of hearing other views and critiques of their own and responding to them in a respectful way. I wish everyone would do that.

Nice review Steve! It's been years since I read any Hugh Ross. It is great to see a move towards considering Creation in the rest of the OT without a single focus on Gen 1-2. I have a feeling I would disagree with him on several points but am glad to see him wrestle with the text and see what treasures lie there.
